Choosing the right food, harness, or everyday essentials for your dog shouldn’t feel confusing or rushed. At Sniff & Bark, our in-store fitting and advice service is designed to give dog owners confidence that they’re choosing what’s genuinely right for their dog — not just what happens to be on the shelf. We welcome dogs into the shop and take the time to understand their size, shape, behaviour, and individual needs before making any recommendations.

Why Proper Fitting Matters

A poorly fitting harness or coat can cause discomfort, restrict movement, or lead to rubbing and pressure in the wrong places. Every dog is built differently, and sizing can vary significantly between brands. That’s why we offer free, expert fitting in-store. We carefully check fit around the chest, neck, shoulders, and body length to ensure your dog can move comfortably and safely. If something doesn’t fit properly, we’ll say so — even if that means recommending a different option. Our goal is not to sell the most expensive item, but the right one.

Our Fitting Process

When you visit Sniff & Bark with your dog, we will assess size and shape, try suitable harnesses or coats, check comfort and movement, explain why a particular fit works (or doesn’t), and answer questions honestly and clearly. No appointment is needed, and there’s no pressure to buy.

Food & Nutrition Advice You Can Trust

We’re also well known locally for our practical, honest dog food advice. We stock quality raw food from trusted suppliers including Cotswold Raw, Nutriment, and Albion Raw, alongside carefully selected dry foods such as Canagan and McAdams. We regularly help customers with switching food safely, understanding ingredients and labels, managing sensitivities or digestive issues, and choosing food appropriate for age, size, and activity level. If raw feeding is new to you, we explain it clearly and practically.

Personal Advice — Not Guesswork

Unlike large chains, we take the time to listen and understand each dog before making recommendations. Our advice is based on experience, not sales targets, so owners can make informed decisions with confidence. Many customers return to us because they value having somewhere local they can trust.

Dogs Always Welcome

Dogs are welcome in the shop, and we encourage bringing them along for fittings. Seeing your dog in person allows us to give far better advice than guessing based on breed or measurements alone.
